Nelson & Bernstein has provided independent insurance and risk management consulting for more than 20 years. Our goal is for our clients to be confident that they understand their exposures, that their insurance program provides the coverage they need at a fair price, and that their risk management issues will be addressed quickly and competently.

We want our clients to be confident that an experienced professional is looking out for their interests, and that they can get insurance and risk management questions answered when they need those answers. We do not sell insurance.

Nelson & Bernstein grew out of a need by clients for risk management experience, when they want it. Our clients tend to have insurance budgets of about $1,000,000 or more, or insurable values over $500,000,000. They have questions and concerns throughout the year, about issues that include:

• Contract language (leases, loan agreements)
• Insurance renewal proposals (coverage analysis, premium comparison)
• Claims (proactive management and coverage interpretation)

Their challenge is that they don’t require the services of a full time risk manager. By outsourcing risk management, the executive can be confident about his or her risk management program, without the commitment of full time staff. Nelson & Bernstein can provide needed independent insurance advice, when the executive needs it.

Nelson & Bernstein will create a work plan that is specific to the client’s needs. Some clients prefer the consultant to be in the office one or two days a week. Others prefer to access the consultant on an “as needed” basis. Our practice is for two consultants to be assigned to an account, so there is back up for vacations or other situations. This is a benefit in that a knowledgeable person is available in the event the lead consultant is out.
